BD does Cervantes

Jun 16, 2011 by        Blog, Field Work, Morocco 2011

Next week we have three activities planned at the Casablanca Cervantes Institute (the international Spanish cultural institution, right around the corner from our house here).  If you’re in Casablanca, please come.

Beyond Digital presents…

21 June: DJ Sessions with DJ/Rupture and Maga Bo.  Two DJs of international renown play bordercrossing beats.  Maga Bo: transnational bass.  DJ/Rupture: unexpected rhythms, brainy+danceable.

22 June: Introduction: work-in-progress. The Beyond Digital team shares a selection of its work to date: video fragments, music and photography, all unfinished.  An invitation to discuss and participate.

23 June: Workshop: photo editing. John Francis Peters, photo editor of Fader magazine (NY) and Beyond Digital photographer shows the photos he’s taken in Morocco so far and with this material – as well as other bodies of documentary photography – proposes a participatory workshop on the art of photo editing.
